Lost Dog - Crown Hill/Ballard

Our dog, Venus, got out this morning. She's very old and not in the best of health so we would really like to find her.

Last seen: 11th Ave NW and NW 70th St around 6am 1/11

Description: Black, medium-sized dog, fairly skinny, airedale/dalmatian mix (she has a grayish "beard" typical of airedales, and a white patch with spots on her chest, like a dalmatian), wearing a red/blue/yellow dog sweater.

If you have see her or find her, please e-mail me as soon as possible (e-mail in my LJ profile)

We've also posted on Craigslist

Thank you so much.

EDIT: Thank you very much to all of you for your kind thoughts. Our dog Venus was brought in by a kind soul to the animal shelter today, deceased. We are very sad, but glad to have some closure, and glad to know that there are still people with kindness in their hearts in todays world.

Mountain Drive

With the three-day weekend coming up, I was thinking of taking a little day trip somewhere outside the city. I'd like to go to the mountains and see some snow, but I'm not looking to hike in the snow or anything. Are there any nice drives in the mountains that have a good final destination (a place to hang out, take pictures, play in the snow, get some lunch)?

Anyone have any suggestions? Links to info would be nice, too.

Any bets how long it will last? There are only about 3 hours of daylight left today...

I say, hmm, 45 minutes.

Clearly, I was way too optimistic. Oh well, sometimes 20 minutes is better than nothing...sometimes.
