Blade Trinity Sneek Peek at Pacific Place (lame)

I attended a free sneek preview of Blade Trinity this evening at Pacific Place. The movie doesnt open until next week, I think. I expected very little from this movie and I received my expectations in abundance. I'm really glad I didnt pay anything for this stinker. Par for the course, the show was stolen by Parker Posey; she kicks SO MUCH ASS its not even funny. Will someone please put a fork into Westley Snipes's carreer...its well over done!

- Parker Posey as a vampire
- Ryan Reynolds mostly naked
- visual effects

- plot
- dialog
- editing
- direction
- poor action scenes
- Kris Kristofferson
- cliche footage of the city moving at 20x normal speed
- unintentional comedy
- excessive product placement (iPods)
- lame pop cultural references
- vampiric pomeranian (really!)
- "Dracula" err, I mean "DRAKE" *groan*

"Life is a war and war obviously never ends!"... uh huh.

I'm certain it will be a blockbuster

Koo-koo for Ezells

My entire office is totally fiending for Ezell's Famous Chicken right now...its very serious...we're on the edge of a nervous breakdown! About an hour ago one of our guys took up a collection and went to fetch us lunch at Ezell's. We've been waiting and waiting. He must be stuck in traffic; everyone in my area is talking about nothing but the damned chicken. Every time the door opens we all look to see if it is the chicken man coming to deliver us into chicken bliss.

Im hungry. Come to me chicken...come now.

Hi All,

I'm looking for advice/suggestions on finding a "headhunter" in the Seattle area. I'm not really looking for a temp agency, but rather a professional job placement type person. Anyone have any experiences or recommendations in this area?

SCCC Sociology Survey Update

For those who signed up for the Sociology surveys, the surveys are finished. I've e-mailed links to you. A few e-mail address were invalid, so if you didn't get an e-mail I am sorry.

For those who are running across this the first time, feel free to take the survey.

Just a little info:
My group has created a survey for our sociology project. Our question is "Does substance use help create art, if not better art?" (By substance, we mean mind-altering such as alcohol, marijuana, ect. Even though technically coffee and cigarettes could fall under a substance, we aren't including them in our research).

Here are the survey links. Choose the one that applies to you.

Looking for something different to do? - Comedy Show

Check out the Sisters of Sal, an improvisational Comedy Group, performing at West Seattle's ArtsWest Theater on Saturday, December 11th at 10:30pm.

Sisters of Sal, 2004 Seattle CageMatch Champion, is a long-form improvisational comedy troupe dedicated to performing fast-paced intelligent humor in the form of interweaving stories and characters created while the audience watches.

The Sisters' signature show - Maelstrom: Unscripted, Uncensored, Unbelievable takes a single word from the audience and then through a series of improvised scenes, monologues and games the Sisters explore the many images and meanings that word conjures.

The initials say it all - SOS - we can't do it without the help of the audience.

RC cars

Does anyone know where there are hobby shops where I could buy a plastic remote control car body shell made for the build-yourself size electric RC cars? the ones that are 1/8 to 1/12 in size. (Closer to the university district is better.)

Holiday Photos with "Santa Claws"

Dec. 11, 2004, at the Seattle Animal Shelter

The Seattle Animal Shelter announced "Santa Claws" will be at the shelter on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., to pose for holiday photos with local pets and their owners as part of the shelter’s annual fund-raiser. With a $15 donation to the shelter’s "Help the Animals Fund," each pet owner will receive two
4x6-inch color prints, by mail.

"This event is the perfect way to help Seattle’s orphaned animals during the holiday season and receive a holiday keepsake of your pet. Many of the orphaned animals arriving at the shelter are sick, injured, malnourished or abused," says Seattle Animal Shelter Director Don Jordan. "Seattle’s "Help the Animals Fund" gives these animals a second chance by paying for veterinary care through our Foster Care Program."

Photos will be taken in the shelter’s upper floor conference room. The shelter is located at 2061 - 15th Ave. W., approximately one mile south of the Ballard Bridge. Pets and their owners should enter the building on 15th Ave. W. All dogs must be on leashes and cats and other furry critters should be in carriers.

does anyone know where to get those caffeinated chocolates en masse? I could conceivably finangle a trek to Costco, but I'd rather not.

Alternately, does anyone have any other ideas for gifts to mail to friends who are finishing finals and feverishly working on their theses?

Thank you muchly.

Best coffee in Seattle?

So we were watching some eating-out-on-a-budget show on Food Network and the host was in Seattle. We didn't watch much because it makes me miss Seattle too much. But she had it set up where she asked three different people where the best coffee in Seattle was and they were all (paid to have) said, "Caffe Ladro".

We've never heard of this place. Where is it and is it the best coffee in Seattle?
