I don't know if this has been asked or not before - but I'm in desperate need of some suggestions.

I live in a 2 story house that has been converted in to 2 apartments. One upstairs and one downstairs. I live in the downstairs one and have for about 2 and a half years.

My problem is this: The upstairs neighbors bathtub leaks into my kitchen and bathroom. It is something that I have contacted the manager about several times - including Monday at 2:45 in the morning (that is when I caught the leak and cleaned it all up). I asked her to call me back and let me know when they would be out.

I got to work on Monday morning - expecting a call at around 9 because that's when most apartment managers get in (at least the ones my work deals with) and there's no call. I waited until about 10:30 to call her - and I asked her again when someone would be coming out. Her response was "I put it on his list of things to do", I then asked if he would get to it today and she did not have a straight answer for me.

I then called back a little after noon to ask her if her maintenance man could call me when he was on his way out there - because I would like to be there. She simply replied "no". She told me I would need to make an appointment between 8-12 or 1-5. I told her I would do that - that I needed an "appointment" as early as possible because I had to take time off of work to stay at home. So she asked me if I wanted tomorrow (today) between 8 and noon - and I told her yes. That was it.

This morning I've been waiting and waiting - and still no show or no call. I'm about to go make a phone call to her to see if he's still on his way because I really do need to get back to work.

My question is - is there someone else I can call to come and take a look at this? I am pretty sure that the floor upstairs has rotted - or at least gotten really soggy in the past couple of years. I don't feel too safe walking in and out of the kitchen for fear of the ceiling collapsing. There is a hole in my ceiling above my cabinets that isn't too small anymore. There's also pockets of water in my bathroom ceiling.

I don't know if I need to get a hold of the city to let them know. I am documenting the damage done with a digital camera to show who ever I can get to come look at it. By the looks of it now - I don't think the manager's maintenance man will be coming out today.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please?

Since absentee ballots have been mailed out, I'm curious (to those who have received and read the ballots, or who already know where they stand politically) what/who people will vote for. Most of all, I'm curious about Initiative 83 and President/Vice Pres.

So if you're curious too, vote.

Poll #369441 Ballot Issues

On Initiative 83 I will vote

Won't vote/have no opinion.

For President/Vice President I will vote

car stereo recommendations

I checked the memories, and while there are many car repair places--does anyone have recommendations for car stereo/cd players/cd changers?

My stereo randomly stopped working today (won't even power on), to my extreme woe. I'm going to have my mechanic look at it, but if it turns out my stereo is broken, does can anyone recommend a good local shop? Any particularly good installation deals? I'm not looking to drop a bundle, but would be replacing the factory-installed, 6-cd changer my car came with. My only requirement would be that it have a cd player. A multi-disc changer would be nice, but is not required. North Seattle would be ideal, but can be anywhere in Seattle.

Thanks in advance!
