Another Hundred Artists

Come to Another Hundred Artists, a benefit for MoveOnPAC. Basically:
  • 100 artists donate 100 works
  • 100 patrons each donate $100
  • artists and patrons meet and schmooze on Sept. 30, 7-9 p.m. at the Mt. Baker Community Center.
  • each patron gets to go home with one of the art works
  • MoveOnPAC gets $10,000
It's that simple.

Please help spread the word to patrons! I believe there are still tickets available.

BTW, I am one of the 100 and will be donating one of my works.

Bacon orgasm

Oh my God (mine, not yours)!

Get yourself to the Buffalo Deli on 1st Ave and Blanchard(-ish) for lunch. They gave me the best bedamned BLT I've ever had. ALL of their sandwiches are amazing, but their BLT - wowza.

For the love of bacon - get yourself one of these. Yum.

"Bacon tastes goooood."

Bad environmental policy here in Seattle!!

This is a PSA I just had to send out.

My fiance and I were down at U-Village last night for some dinner at the
little Mexican place next to the Confectionery. To make a long story
short I had a pop can and I searched all over the place to find a
recycling bin to put it in. After having no luck, I popped my head in
the French bakery and asked them if they could recycle it for me.
I was stunned when she told me that U-Village doesn't recycle! How
absurd is that? This huge, trendy, fancy schmancy outdoor mall
doesn't recycle? Come again? That's so environmentally irresponsible
and I can't see a reason for it.
I wanted to let you all know. That way, if you're as upset as I am,
you could send a letter of disgust to their management. You can bet
my letter is already in process.

Here's their contact info:

So frickin livid!!
This girl that SIGNED a lease to take over my lease (basically a new lease and I was suppose to have something signed by the landlord releasing me, he hasn't yet, I have) says now she wants out.

My question is, since she signed this I still liable if she doesn't pay rent. If everyone in the party has signed the new lease, including the landlord, does he have any grounds to charge me for the rent if its not paid?

Gonna be really pissed if so....flake. Thanks

UPDATE: Apparently it has been determined that since she signed a new lease (and not a sublease) she is the one responsible, not me. Still hate flakes. Thanks for everyones input! I can't WAIT to BUY my own house!

Tonight 9/30

This Thursday's Schizophrenia brings you the return of Lucky Eddy- Seattle's (and possibly the world's) oldest industrial dj! Seriously. Doors open at 9. $4.00 cover all night. 21+w/id. We are located in Seattle's Capitol Hill at 10th & Union under the Autobattery shop. See you there!

There's apparently a nationwide shortage of Prilosec. Has anyone seen Prilosec available in any stores in/near Seattle? I will be going on a hunt for it later tonight. Most of the other over-the-counter stuff doesn't work as well for me.

Experts predict Mount St. Helens eruption
9/30/2004, 6:36 p.m. ET
The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) — The flurry of earthquakes at Mount St. Helens intensified further Thursday, and one scientist put the chance of a small eruption happening in the next few days at 70 percent.

Jeff Wynn, chief scientist at the U.S. Geologic Survey's Cascade Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Wash., said tiny quakes were happening three or four times a minute. Larger quakes, with magnitudes of 3 to 3.3, were happening every three or four minutes, he said.

Red Line Cafe

I'd like to note that the Red Line Cafe is, to use the words of MC Frontalot, "the dopest innovation since the slicing of bread." They have the most heavenly sandwiches I've ever had. They also have wifi, good coffee, incredibly good snacks, cute and friendly staff, and uh . . . they really rock. They're the first place I've seen that has peanut butter and carrot sticks on the menu. Or you can just get a spoonful of peanut butter.

I hate to clutter this community with babbling, but I'd hate it more if people didn't check out the Red Line and it went out of business or something horrible.

I even looked up the address! 1524 E Olive Way. Definitely go there if you can. Incredibly yummy and pretty damn cheap, too.

Valley 6 Drive In

I was curious if anybody knows the fate of the drive ins and if this is their last season? We really enjoyed going there the past two summers but every year I hear the same story that they will be closing soon. I figure I'd ask here to see if anybody might know. :)

Yet another food post

Is there any place around town that serves authentic Michigan Upper Peninsula style pasties? The offerings of assorted piroshki places and Ravenna's Pies & Pints are good, but not quite the same thing... nowhere near dense enough, for starters.
