Anyone bored and want to jam or start a band?

I've been playing guitar for about 3 1/2 years and I'm okay. I just need more things to play, I have a bad ear but I'm getting better at covering songs but it takes forever. I refuse to look at tabs. I figure if I play with someone else, I'll get better faster, and learning a different style might make things better. I'm into classic rock, Reggae, and acoustic guitar stuff, like Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, Guster, OAR, and Dispatch. If anyone's interested just give me a holla!

I have a bunch of canned food that I'm sure I'm not going to ever eat. I was saving it for a canned food drive, since they normally have lots of them in the fall, but I haven't heard of one in the area yet. Anyone know of any coming up?

Calling all funk-o-philes!

So, I was looking at tost's calender and I saw that Altered States of Funk is gonna be playing there tomorrow night. Now, this possed some issues: Most of my good friends are either not into funk, or are not able to go. Now I really don't wanna go alone. This is creating a bit or a quandry.
So, who here is into funk, and willing to meet a new person? I'm not looking for a date, just a group of chill people to hang out with and enjoy some good music and a couple martini's

choir to join?

i would like to join a choir and am wondering if anyone has suggestions on a good one to join
i'm not currently enrolled in school and don't attend religious services, so those obvious options aren't available
but i don't have a lot of money--i would really, really prefer something free, or at least not too expensive
also, not too selective--i can sing in tune and stay on my part, but my voice isn't anything special
me: f/22/alto (soprano or tenor not too big a stretch)
oh, and evening practice is ideal...or weekends...definitely not mornings
