Looking for a job....

Have Inside/Outside call center sales experiance.

Lots of customer service experiance as well.

Good with computers and very quick to learn.

Got laid off today and need a job asap in order to renew my lease and not be a bum.

If anyone has any info about a job (need at least 11/hr to live) or know someone that does, I'll buy you lunch or somthing rad.

I prefer:

Fast paced enviorment.
Younger coworkers (last job other youngest person was 35+)
People don't care how you dress or style or whatever.

But these are preferences, I can adapt to (and have)anything.

Just in case you're interested:
Harry and the Potters will be playing at the University Bookstore on Tuesday, July 20 at 7pm. It's free, it'll be fun, and they have a song called "Cornelius Fudge is an Ass".

(Also, thanks for the help with u-pick blueberries. My boyfriend and I ended up going to the Mercer Slough one on Bellevue Way SE and picked 8.5 lbs of blueberries in 45 minutes! And they were $1/lb! Yahoo!)

cable fun..

back in the day when i worked at TCI / AT&T doing support for thier cable internet service (now comcast) It used to be that if someone had *just* cable internet they could hook up their tv and get basic cable tv for free. Anyone know if this is still the case ? It used to be that they couldnt put a filter on the line to filter out the tv signal without distrupting the cable internet service.

This should make you angry

This is what happens to photography students in Seattle when they dare to photograph such highly valuable and strategic sites as the Ballard Locks.

I want to know how this kind of harassment can be justified. I want to know what happened to the freedom to say "No officer, you may not see my papers." I want to know what happened that caused us to create policies to make miserable the lives of photography students.

Weekend Festivities

Has anyone here ever been to the Bon Odori Matsrui in the International District?

I'm curious, if you have a traditional yukata are they worn to the festival? My friend wants to go but isn't sure about how to dress and whathave you. Anything else you'd care to point out/advise on, I'd be grateful.

♥ Of course, I'll bring my camera too! ♥

possible new girl

i'm thinking of moving to seattle someday. what do you love about it? is it a great place for artists to make a modest living? what happens during an average day of your life in the emerald city?

also, i've found it hard to believe that people in seattle are unfriendly. i've visited many times, and have been helped beyond bounds. for example, to find the space needle during my first visit. from your everyday experience, do you like the people in general?

rain is good. :)

thanks in advance.

Harry and the Potters

Harry and the Potters are on tour! If you want to hear "Save Ginny Weasley" and "Wizard Chess", then I'd suggest you come and see the show. More fun than a game of quidditch. Promise.

Our former U-district slumlord, Richard Sander, is attempting to extort our entire rental deposit along with an additional $75 for damage that we did not do to the house. We have never delt with something like this before (although we found out after we moved in that this is his general M.O., and has been sued multiple times for witholding deposits) and need someone to point us in the right direction for legal recourse. We are consulting the Studenl Legal services office at the UW, but any additional input would be very much appreciated.

...At any rate, I'll just reiterate that this man is the worst landlord imaginable, and should be avoided at all costs. He manages several properties in the U-district, and has made a practice of profiting off of students and other people he assumes will not or do not know how to sue him.

public pools

Hi. I was wondering if any of you folks can recommend a nice kid-friendly public (or public accessible) swimming pool for a two year old who I am trying to get warmed up to splashing and swimming. We try to get him to the local Seattle parks to splash in the kiddie pools and neighborhood pools, however I would love to find a indoor/outdoor pool in or near or around the 50 mile radius of Seattle that has a zero to 4 or more foot depth and perhaps a little-tike like slide. Any help would be great. Thanks.

x-posted: Photography Protest and Workshop - Aug. 1, 1-4, Ballard Locks

I'm sure you heard about this in the paper, it was covered in the Times - interested in saying something about? show your support.

This original post by Ian Spiers, a student photographer doing a study at the Ballard Locks...
"One of the Seattle policemen, using his strongest, most authoritative voice, gripping his holstered sidearm, was now demanding to see my ID. I asked what this was about and why I had to show him my ID. "Look, we can do this one of two ways. You show me your ID right now! I'm not kidding!" the cop yelled. Let me be the first to admit to my total loss of composure. Eight grown men, five of which were in uniform and wearing sidearms, now surrounded me. I just had a camera, a tripod, and a bad flashback to Rodney King. You bet I was emotional. How composed would you be?"

...spurned on this reaction by Myk O'Leary:
"In response, I will be trying to organize a photo shoot at the Locks as a means of protest. Anyone else who cares about our rights as Americans to photograph interseting PUBLIC subjects are welcome to join me. If you are a photographer in Seattle, please consider coming."

Though I don't know the above folks, nor am I an avid photographer, I am going to try and make the event. I encourage all of you to do the same.
