Need a lawyer
My partner does freelance music work and has a client who is consistently late with payments. The client has been selling his soundtrack on Steam for awhile and now says that they will only pay yearly, which seems absurd to us. Caveat: there are no contracts, only IM logs and in person talks. It was a good faith agreement that he would be paid in a timely fashion, and trust us, there will be no more work done again without a contract (don't need the snark, we know we dun' goofed here).
So I guess I'm looking for a media/intellectual property/copyright type of lawyer, if you have any recommendations. The industry is video games, so bonus points if the lawyer has taken those cases before. Thank you! We're in the Kirkland area, but willing to drive to Seattle and surrounding areas.
