just giving you guys a heads up about a criticalest mass event going on in seattle each month.
basically we are going out there and celebrating being pedestrians. walking is natural, its the oldest mode of human transportation, its great for your health and its great for the environment.
its really simple, this is how it works.
everyone needs to go out and purchase 10 to 20 bicycle chain locks, make sure they are the cheap ones because they will more than likely be one time use items.
then we meet up at a specified location, usually westlake center and we begin celebrating and spreading the word about how awesome it is to walk.
if you find a bike thats not being used, go ahead and wrap that chain through the spokes and lock it
as far as bikes that are in use go, we generally have one person step in front of the bike and "cork it" while someone else comes up behind and locks up the back wheel.
generally people are pretty cool about it and some of them even walk with us for a while after their bikes have been locked up, sometimes whoever owns the bike might yell and scream because you've inconvenienced them a little bit but pedestrians have rights and we need to educate people on those rights. pedestrians are traffic too.
just to let you guys know this is NOT an organized event so nobody is going to be held accountable for their actions, as long as you can run fast and lie really well everyone will have a great time.

(although "corking" a locomotive might not go so well)

I love it when people post entries that perversely make fun of earlier entries. It's sort of the core of

This is the most pedestrian friendly city I've ever lived in (and I've lived in A LOT of places). It seems to me this is just another "brilliant" idea brought to you by people who think they can spew out that they have rights. Let me clue you in on something. Hell, let me clue in all of the people who walk in Seattle's streets in on something. Anything moving faster than you (bikes, cars, airplanes if you're a superhero) has this thing called inertia and doesn't give a rats ass about your pedestrian rights.
Screw biking. I'll take my environment killing car and run you over! Muahahahaha! 2 million points if I hit two for one!
Ahh. fun stuff.

...but, seeing how we were blocking the roads and breaking the law and being total dicks and all, we probably had it coming to us, now didn't we?...
